Held at San Francisco’s iconic Moscone Center from October 14–16, the three-day experience drew 40,000+ attendees from around the globe. As Salesforce’s flagship event and the largest software conference in the world, Dreamforce is where enterprise meets inspiration.
This year, Pop Life Photo was tapped by experiential agency George P. Johnson (GPJ) to create a one-of-a-kind photo activation that would deliver on two major goals: guest engagement and marketing data collection. What followed was a custom-built, AI-powered trading card experience that turned every attendee into a character in the Salesforce universe. As a result, 2,587 attendees walked away with personalized, physical, digital, and shareable keepsakes — totaling 7,388 high-quality prints.
The Mission: Merge Engagement + Data in One Seamless Flow
Salesforce and GPJ came to Pop Life with a creative idea: build an interactive, high-tech photo experience that felt personal and fun, while subtly collecting valuable marketing data. They wanted something attendees would remember and talk about, long after the event ended.
The experience needed to feel:
- Innovative and cutting-edge
- Fun and community-driven
- High-touch yet seamless
- Interactive with clear value exchange
And of course, it had to reflect Salesforce’s bold, trailblazing brand.
The Build: AI-Powered Trading Cards
To bring the concept to life, Pop Life developed a fully integrated photo booth experience that combined Salesforce’s custom quiz data, live photography, and instant AI-generated illustrations, all seamlessly composited into one of 12 branded trading cards within seconds.
Here’s how it worked:
- Guests took a fun quiz that assigned them to one of 12 fictional Salesforce “communities” — think superhero teams in the Salesforce multiverse.
- The quiz asked for a few creative inputs:
- Name
- Superpower
- A word to describe themselves
- Hometown
- Favorite emoji
- Email (opt-in for marketing)
- The guest’s quiz data generated a QR code, which was scanned into Pop Life’s AI-powered booth system.
- Guests had their selfies taken, and within seconds, the booth transformed their images into custom AI-generated comic-style characters that matched their assigned community.
- That image and quiz data were instantly dropped into one of 12 dynamic trading card templates each unique to their community.
- Within moments, the booth printed three high-quality cards:
- One for the guest’s lanyard
- One collectible to take home
- One to add to the community trading card wall
The visual impact was stunning! By the end of the show, the full wall of trading cards became a centerpiece at the Moscone West third-floor activation space.
The Guest Journey: Seamless Tech + Flawless Execution
The entire activation was deployed on the third floor of Moscone West. Despite the massive foot traffic and high energy of Dreamforce, the Pop Life team created a polished, well-organized experience that moved hundreds of guests per hour.
The booth featured:
- Sleek, brand-integrated signage and touchpoints
- Seamless AI processing and image rendering
- Fast card printing and assembly
- On-site staff trained for both tech and hospitality
From quiz to printout, the entire guest journey was fun, intuitive, and fast. This was key to keeping lines short and engagement high.
The Results: Numbers That Prove Impact
This wasn’t just a visually cool activation — it delivered real numbers.
Daily Breakdown:
- Oct 14: 823 sessions, 2,393 prints
- Oct 15: 966 sessions, 2,725 prints
- Oct 16: 798 sessions, 2,270 prints
Total: 2,587 guest sessions, 7,388 high-quality prints
More importantly, every guest who participated opted in to receive their photo digitally and submitted data through the quiz. Salesforce received a rich dataset while offering guests a personalized takeaway.
By the end of the event, the trading card wall was filled, becoming a live mosaic of community, creativity, and connection.
